Privacy Policy

UK Trains provides rail information inside ChatGPT through an MCP service hosted on Cloudflare Workers. This policy explains what data is processed when you use the app.

Who operates UK Trains

UK Trains is operated from the staces.co.uk domain. It is independent and is not operated by Realtime Trains, Trainline, National Rail, Network Rail, or any train operating company.

Data we process

• Journey details you ask for, such as station names or codes, destinations, dates, times, and route filters.
• Technical request data required to run the service, such as request time, endpoint, response status, and hosting logs.
• Rail data returned by Realtime Trains, such as services, platforms, calling points, delays, cancellations, and train identifiers.
• Outbound ticket-search link parameters, such as origin, destination, date, time, train tab, and a generic adult passenger placeholder date where Trainline expects one.

Data we do not collect

• We do not ask for user accounts, passwords, payment card details, government identifiers, health data, or real passenger dates of birth.
• We do not buy tickets, take payment, issue refunds, or manage Trainline accounts.
• We do not intentionally store the full ChatGPT conversation. The MCP service only receives the tool inputs and context sent to it by ChatGPT for the requested rail task.

How we use data

• To look up rail information requested by the user.
• To render ChatGPT card views and service details.
• To diagnose faults, monitor reliability, protect the service from abuse, and understand whether the app is working correctly.
• To build optional outbound Trainline search links. Some links may include affiliate or tracking parameters if configured; any purchase happens on Trainline, not UK Trains.

Third-party services

• OpenAI and ChatGPT process the conversation and call the UK Trains MCP service when the user requests rail information.
• Cloudflare hosts the Worker and may process network and security logs.
• Realtime Trains provides rail data used by the app.
• Trainline may receive data embedded in outbound ticket-search URLs if the user opens a Buy tickets link.

Retention

UK Trains does not maintain a user account database. Operational logs, where available from hosting or observability tools, are used for security, debugging, and reliability and are kept only as long as needed for those purposes. Third-party services apply their own retention policies.

Security

The service is served over HTTPS. API credentials are stored as Cloudflare Worker secrets and are not returned in tool responses. Tool responses are designed to minimise personal data and avoid diagnostic identifiers unless needed for debugging.

Your choices

You can avoid opening Trainline links if you do not want to leave ChatGPT. You can also ask for train information without providing exact times or destinations, though results may be less precise.
